We got this lovely flower at the PTF Fiesta yesterday. I thought it would make a great prop. Ana was dying to get to hold it. So, I say, "Smile!" She growls. "Look happy!" She shows me her teeth. "Smell the flower." She covers her face with it. "Hold it down a little." She puts it on the floor. Child photography is an ART! You have to trick (or bribe) them to get results...or just take a hundred pictures so that THREE turn out!

Dodge Ball
At ICS Singapore we play dodge ball. The elementary school played against the elementary teachers, aides, and various administration.
The teachers showed little or no mercy even though their first opponents were first and second graders!
The teachers showed little or no mercy even though their first opponents were first and second graders!
It finally came down to one little second grader and then it was all over!
The second game with fifth graders was a different story. The teachers went in a little cocky and despite appearances some of these kids can throw!! Soon a line of ousted teachers began to form and then as teacher numbers dwindled the fifth graders began to dominate. The elementary PE teacher fell to the floor (as Analia later said, "Bandy (her name), you fell on the floor!") She now has to listen to elementary students for the next year reminding her of how they trounced the teachers!

School Days!
If Ana had her way all our time at school would be spent on the playground. I actually go to volunteer, but spend most of my time letting Ana run around. As you can see she enjoys herself! She still swings with me because she "wants to go higher." Recently though she has wanted to swing by herself--mostly so she can do new tricks! I thought they weren't supposed to do this until they were in second or third grade. I've got a daredevil on my hands!
Summer Strawberries
I was really hoping to be in the States when strawberries were in season. It would be so fun to take Ana to pick some! But, as that looks like it probably won't be, I'll settle for these beauties. They really were as delicious as they look. Although these red bites of heaven came at a price it was worth every penny! Hooray for Californian strawberries!

Happy Birthday Matt!
Free greeting made with Smilebox |
We ended off the day having a nice dinner with Ivy, Yu Jin and Joshua at the Manhattan Fish Company. It was yummy and Ana got another balloon!
