Indian Dance 2010

The India team shared in chapel on Thursday. Students shared how they had been challenged to be more joyful, more thankful, and more active in helping the poor! We prayed for impact and God delivered! Of course they also did their dance. They hadn't had too much time to practice--so just imagine that they're together in parts :)

Sentosa

I haven't been to Sentosa in years, but we thought it would be fun to take Ana to the beach. Matt had Friday off and most of Singapore didn't, so we went pretty early in the morning. When we arrived there was literally one other person on the beach! It was fantastic. We left around 10:45 and people were starting to arrive, but go early to enjoy--plus the sun was getting really strong by then! The new resort area is going to be really nice. They're still working on a lot of it, but it shouldn't be too much longer. Universal Studios is up and running, but not all the rides are done yet. If I have to stay here during June, I'm considering getting a season pass to Sentosa--Ana still doesn't have to pay, and we'll just be beach bums every morning!

Chocoholic!

You know you have a chocoholic on your hands when:

-she spies the only chocolate bun in the whole bakery from her stroller.
-she would do ANYTHING for some homemade chocolate pudding.
-you find her in the freezer (ours is on the bottom) eating all your chocolate chips!
-she can identify chocolate by smell (from far far away).

We're in trouble!!

Heaven

OK, today I splurged and bought some 12 dollar bacon. (I won't tell you that I cooked it all cut up into little pieces and divided it into six bags to freeze--I'm still cheap!) I cooked it in my cast iron skillet--thank you Grandma-- and the smell was to die for. (Maybe someone should make a maple bacon candle???) Ana was like a little puppy begging for some bites. We'll enjoy every bite and the lingering scent in the kitchen!

Too Horrible for Words...

I haven't had a good week. Our adoption is going nowhere, it's HOT, and I've not been very joyful or content with where I am. So, Ana went off while I was cutting up vegetables for dinner. She actually really rarely does this. After two minutes I called her to come set the table. She came and said, "Mama I cut my hair." I didn't even spank her--just walking around like this for a month or two is punishment enough! It is of course totally unfixable--so c'est la vie. We'll live with it!

Collage Challenge

I print a lot of photos collage style! These are some I took of my daughter. The dress and the boot combo made me laugh! She knows what she likes!

Head on over to iheartfaces.com to see more collages!

Another Sad Day!

Our condolences go out to the Eiler family at the passing of Grandpa Bob. We had hoped to get to see him again, but will have to wait until heaven!

Pudding, Painting, and Other Activities

Well, I for one am very thankful that Matt is back! It was a LONG eight days. We did have some fun while he was gone....

We chased bubbles, got ready "all by myself" horrors!!!, redecorated the bathroom wall (washable finger paint),

made homemade chocolate pudding pops (did I mention it was HOT????),

triked, and monkeyed around! We also visited at least three different fountains to splash in even though the humidity was like 99%! We did squeeze in time for the classic "National Velvet." Ana loves horses and gets doubly excited when they're jumping! It wasn't too bad, BUT can I just say I'm NOT looking forward to three weeks in June of no daddy!

Happy Easter!

Well, once again I made plans which didn't work out! We were supposed to go to a park along the ocean for a sunrise service--only there was no sunrise, only clouds and rain! I had toted along the camera planning to get awesome beach shots. Ana and Joshua were so looking forward to going to the beach (and said so repeatedly). We thought we might still go if it stopped raining, but it never did! So, we went to church and watched 7 people be baptized and then went home and ate leftover ham sandwiches. Not how I planned, but a nice day anyway!

Our Easter Egg Hunt (Saturday Night)

I had GRAND plans for this hunt, but they were all dashed by the rain! As you can see they had fun anyway! Happy Easter to you!

Durian

Durian is known as the king of fruits here! You either like it or hate it. Watch to see Ana's reaction.
